Glenn Hoddle 'keen on Tottenham Hotspur return'

Former Tottenham boss and player Glenn Hoddle is reportedly keen on returning to White Hart Lane as the replacement for sacked manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Glenn Hoddle is understood to be interested in returning to north London as Andre Villas-Boas's replacement.

Villas-Boas was sacked on Monday following the club's 5-0 home thrashing by Liverpool, a result which came three weeks after Spurs were beat 6-0 by Manchester City.

Hoddle, who previously managed the Lillywhites from 2001 to 2003, and made 377 appearances for them as a player, has been tipped as a potential successor, by ex-Spurs striker Gary Lineker among others.

According to BBC Sport, the 56-year-old, who is apparently close friends with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, would be keen to have another crack at the White Hart Lane hot seat.

Hoddle has not managed since leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2006, but has since turned down the opportunity to take charge of the Ukrainian national team and run a football academy in Spain.
