Erik Lamela's transfer to Marseille is reportedly off after Tottenham Hotspur pulled out of the deal.
According to L'Equipe, Spurs were only going to let Lamela leave if they were able to sign West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino as a replacement.
The deal for Lamela was thought to be a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer.
Spurs have already had two bids for striker Berahino rejected in the last few weeks, with a third bid reportedly on its way today.
Marseille are looking for players to replace Andre Ayew, Dimitri Payet, and Florian Thauvin, who have all left for Premier League clubs this window, but the deadline for European clubs to sign players on a permanent deal ended last night.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have been linked with West Ham United's Cheikhou Kouyate and Manchester United's James Wilson.
