Roma 'beat Tottenham Hotspur to Juan Foyth'

Roma reportedly beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of Estudiantes centre-back Juan Foyth as the Italians look to replace Antonio Rudiger.

Roma have reportedly beaten Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of Estudiantes centre-back Juan Foyth.

Last month, it was claimed that Tottenham were preparing a £5m move for the 19-year-old, who has made seven league appearances for his Argentine club this season.

However, according to reports in Italy, Roma have identified the teenager as the perfect replacement for Chelsea-bound Antonio Rudiger, and the Italian club have won the race for his signature ahead of Spurs.

Foyth, who is a nine-time Argentina international, could be joined in Rome by Real Madrid's Nacho, with the Spaniard also strongly linked with a move to the Serie A giants.

Runners-up Roma finished just four points behind Italian champions Juventus in Serie A last season, winning 28 of their 38 league matches.
