Leeds United boss Neil Warnock insists that he wants to sign a new midfielder this week.

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock has revealed that he wants sign a new midfielder this week.

Warnock has been linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas this summer, while Queens Park Rangers' Shaun Derry has also been touted as a possible target.

"We are looking all over for a midfield player to join us before the weekend. We've asked about a couple of midfield players and we should know soon because we need someone in there. We're looking at what there is around," Warnock told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"Rodolph Austin is also away this week and will have had two games to play, so we're hoping he comes back okay. He won't be back until Friday and it is horrific when they have all that travelling to do."

Leeds currently sit seventh in the Championship table.
