Stoke City boss Paul Lambert pleased with Jack Butland reaction

Stoke City boss Paul Lambert says that goalkeeper Jack Butland has reacted 'brilliantly' since netting an own goal against Leicester City last weekend.

Stoke City boss Paul Lambert has reiterated that he has no concerns about the mentality of Jack Butland after the goalkeeper's high-profile mistake against Leicester City.

With the Potters holding a 1-0 advantage at the King Power Stadium, Butland fumbled the ball into his own net and the error resulted in Stoke extending their winless run to four matches.

After the match in the East Midlands, Lambert was quick to support his first-choice stopper, and the Scot has revealed that he had been left impressed by the reaction of the England international in training.

At a press conference, the 48-year-old told reporters: "He's been brilliant, which I'd expect. He reacted the right way after the mistake with two brilliant saves.

"He's a brilliant goalkeeper and he's going to be even better as he gets older. I don't have any fear about Jack at all. The type of lad he is, he is confident to handle situations like that."

Lambert has also revealed that second-choice Lee Grant faces a number of weeks on the sidelines after breaking his wrist.
