Preview: Stoke City vs. Swansea City

Sports Mole previews Wednesday's Premier League clash between Stoke City and Swansea City at the Britannia.

Stoke City will look to build on a positive couple of weeks in the Premier League when they welcome Welsh outfit Swansea City to the Britannia on Wednesday evening.

The Potters suffered three straight defeats at the end of January, but have since beaten Manchester United and drawn at Southampton to move into 13th position in the table.

Mark Hughes's side are just three points from the bottom three, but their form has been strong at the Britannia this season – losing just two of their 12 matches.

Swansea, meanwhile, enter the match off the back of a 3-0 win over Cardiff City. That result, which was their third win in their last five in all competitions, moved the Welsh side into 10th spot in the table.

That said, Swansea's away form has been disappointing this season with just three wins from their 12 matches, losing seven times in the process.

The corresponding match last season ended in a 2-0 Stoke win, but the points were shared in a pulsating 3-3 draw when the two sides met in Wales earlier in the season.

Stoke are expected to be without Robert Huth and Marko Arnautovic with knee and ankle injuries respectively, meaning that former Barcelona defender Marc Muniesa should start.

On-loan Manchester City forward John Guidetti will hope for his first piece of league action for the club, but Peter Crouch and Peter Odemwingie are both expected to retain their spots in the XI.

Swansea, meanwhile, should welcome Jonjo Shelvey back into the fold following a hamstring injury, but long-term absentee Michu remains on the sidelines.
