The Premier League clash between Sunderland and Swansea City ended 0-0 this afternoon.

Despite a dominant performance by the home side, Gus Poyet's men were largely toothless in front of goal.

Meanwhile, the Swans were lucky to hang on for a draw after finishing the game with 10 men, courtesy of Angel Rangel's two yellow cards.

Sunderland

Goal

Vito Mannone Largely untroubled by the Swans attack, but was steady when saving Gylfi Sigurdsson's effort after the break. (6/10)

Defence

Billy Jones: Ventured forward on numerous occasions, and stifled Routledge in defence. Solid display. (7/10)

Santiago Vergini: Looked comfortable in defence and forced a save from Fabianski with a header in the first half. (7/10)

Patrick van Aanholt: Was effective against Dyer and also ventured forward to help the front line. (7/10)

John O'Shea: Was responsible for various clearances and blocks, and organised his back line well. (7/10)

Midfield

Will Buckley: Was a constant threat, marauding forward at every opportunity and carving out numerous chances for his colleagues. (9/10)

Adam Johnson: Forced a good save out of Fabianski in the first half. (6/10)

Lee Cattermole: Did a good job of stifling Sigurdsson, but was himself ineffective in front of goal. Mixed display. (6/10)

Jack Rodwell: Largely anonymous foraying forward, but played a part in stifling the Swans attack. (6/10)

Attack

Sebastian Larsson: Unimpressive from set pieces, largely ineffective from open play. (6/10)

Connor Wickham: Responsible for missing several key opportunities to gift his side the win. (5/10)

Substitutes

Jordi Gomez: Good control and possession. (6/10)

Steven Fletcher: Wasted arguably the best chance of the game, heading wide when it should have been easier to score. (5/10)

Swansea City

Goal

Lukas Fabianski: Made several important saves from Johnson and Buckley, and was solid throughout the 90 minutes. Didn't put a foot wrong all afternoon. (7/10)

Defence

Ashley Williams: A tad clumsy at times in his tackling, but overall not a bad display. (6/10)

Federico Fernandez: Comfortable on the ball, was able to keep the ineffective Wickham at bay. (7/10)

Angel Rangel: Was effective against Johnson, but rash with his challenges, and his second yellow for repeated fouls on Buckley was merited. (5/10)

Neil Taylor: Largely anonymous, was second best against Buckley time and time again. (5/10)

Midfield

Nathan Dyer: Was lively and got several efforts in on goal early on, but was kept at bay by the impervious Sunderland back line. (6/10)

Ki Sung-Yueng: His haphazard header in his own area nearly proved costly, while up front, his efforts proved wayward. Not a good return to the Stadium of Light. (5/10)

Jonjo Shelvey: Played some neat through balls, kept the Swans midfield ticking. (7/10)

Wayne Routledge: Stifled for most of the game, was desperate to penetrate the Black Cats back line but was repeatedly thwarted. (6/10)

Attack

Gylfi Sigurdsson: Sterved of opportunities, kept at bay by Cattermole. (6/10)

Bafetimbi Gomis: Didn't do the best job of holding up the ball; as with the other Swansea attacking players, simply unable to break through the organised Sunderland defence. (6/10)

Substitutes

Aaron Richards: Shored up the defence after Rangel's sending off. (6/10)

Wilfried Bony: Had little chance to attack after his side were reduced to 10 men. (6/10)

Jefferson Montero: Had very little time to impress. (6/10)
