Cheikhou Kouyate: 'West Ham United must give 200% against Sunderland'

Cheikhou Kouyate is confident that West Ham can end their seven-game winless run with a 'battling' performance against Sunderland.

Cheikhou Kouyate has called on his West Ham United teammates to give "200% energy" against Sunderland later today.

The Hammers have slipped down to 10th place in the Premier League table in recent weeks thanks to a seven-game winless run.

Ahead of Sunderland's trip to Upton Park, Kouyate has insisted that West Ham can put an end to their slump with a fully-committed performance.

"West Ham need to get a victory," he told the club's official website. "It'll be a very hard game. It's been six or seven games since we last won. We need to focus on Saturday and make sure we get three points. We need to concentrate and focus on ourselves and be ready to go to battle. We need to give 200% energy to make sure we win."

West Ham and Sunderland played out a 1-1 draw when they met at the Stadium of Light earlier this season.
