Preview: Manchester United vs. West Ham United

Sports Mole previews Wednesday's Premier League clash between Manchester United and West Ham United at Old Trafford.

Manchester United welcome West Ham United to Old Trafford on Wednesday looking to consolidate their place at the top of the Premier League table.

United have struggled for form in recent weeks, but their victory over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend moved them a point clear at the top of the table.

West Ham, meanwhile, lost to Tottenham Hotspur last time out, but a solid run of form in the early part of the season has left them in eighth position with 19 points from 13 matches.

The last time the two sides met at Old Trafford was in 2010 when United came out 3-0 winners at the beginning of the 2010-11 season, while Sir Alex Ferguson's side recorded a 4-2 win in the last match in London.

United have remarkably not kept a clean sheet in any competition since early October, but West Ham have struggled away from home in recent weeks.

United have no fresh injury concerns to contend with and could recall Phil Jones, while the away side will still be without Jack Collison and Yossi Benayoun.

Recent form:

Manchester United: WWLLW
West Ham: LDWDL

Possible lineups:

Manchester United: De Gea; Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra; Jones, Carrick, Anderson; Rooney, Hernandez, Van Persie

West Ham: Jaaskelainen; Demel, Reid, Tomkins, McCartney; O'Neil, Diame, Noble, Taylor; Nolan, Carroll

Sports Mole says: 3-1
