Wolfsburg 1-1 Greuther Furth

Wolfsburg fail to get the better of Greuther Furth at home in the Bundesliga, as they are held to a 1-1 draw.

Wolfsburg have been held to a 1-1 draw by Greuther Furth at home in the Bundesliga.

The visitors started the game the brighter of the two sides, as Sercan Sararer forced Diego Benaglio into making a good save in the 17th minute.

Seven minutes later Marcel Schafer had his shot for Wolfsburg from inside the penalty area saved.

Greuther Furth went ahead in the 27th minute when Emanuel Pogatetz put the ball inside his own net.

Sararer could have doubled his team's advantage on 35 minutes when his right-footed shot from a narrow angle hit the Wolfsburg post.

Bernd Nehrig and Thanos Petsos then had chances for Greuther before Wolfsburg equalised with three minutes left for half-time, Ivica Olic heading home from close range.

The second half saw both sides show more urgency for their second goal, as Ilir Azemi's header for Greuther went off the mark and Thomas Kahlenberg saw his headed attempt saved for Wolfsburg.

Diego then made an ambitious attempt from distance in the 70th minute, before Sararer hit the frame of the Wolfsburg goal with a shot from outside the penalty box with seven minutes left on the clock.
