Graham Price: 'Adam Jones omission a mistake'

Former Wales rugby player Graham Price says that Warren Gatland made a mistake by not selecting Adam Jones in the Six Nations squad.

Former Wales prop Graham Price has said that Warren Gatland made a mistake by not selecting Adam Jones in the Welsh Six Nations squad.

Samson Lee was concussed during the match against England last week, and has been replaced by Aaron Jervis for the match against Scotland tomorrow.

"I think this is where Gatland has really shot himself in the foot," Price told BBC Sport.

"He hasn't got a real ready-made replacement to come in. Aaron Jarvis is not a bad player for the Ospreys but he's not of the same sort of level as Samson Lee.

"What Gatland should have done was to have picked Adam Jones in the squad for situations such as this."

Jones, who retired after being overlooked for the championship, made 95 appearances for Wales, and was part of the British and Irish Lions squads in 2009 and 2013.
