Marin Cilic has reached the third round of the BNP Paribas Open with a straight-sets win against Spain's Albert Ramos.
Cilic, who is seeded 12th at the tournament, was made to work for the first set before taking it 9-7 in the tie-break.
The Croatian then secured his passage into the next round with a simple 6-2 victory in the second.
Cilic will meet Canadian 17th seed Milos Raonic for a place in round four.
