Gael Monfils: 'I can't find a way to play Tomas Berdych'

France's Gael Monfils admits that he cannot find a way to play against Tomas Berdych following his semi-final defeat to the Czech at the Monte Carlo Masters.

Gael Monfils has admitted that he finds it difficult to play against Tomas Berdych after losing in straight sets to the Czech in the semi-finals at the Monte Carlo Masters this afternoon.

The Frenchman, who beat Roger Federer on his way to a place in the last four, was beaten 6-1 6-4 earlier, slipping to a sixth defeat in his last seven matches against Berdych.

The world number 18 told reporters: "It's always difficult when I'm up against Tomas, I can't find the proper way to play him.

"Hopefully I'll find the solution one day. But even when I served well, he was returning hard and deep. He reads my serve very well."

Berdych will face either Novak Djokovic or Rafael Nadal in tomorrow's final.
