Andy Murray has admitted that it would be foolish to write off Rafael Nadal for the upcoming French Open.
Murray earned a surprise 6-3 6-2 victory over the Spaniard on Sunday to win the Madrid Open.
The Brit now has two clay-court titles to his name following his recent triumph at the Munich Open.
Despite Nadal suffering a rare loss on clay, Murray believes that the world number seven still has a great chance of winning his 10th French Open crown at Roland Garros this year.
"On that court he has only ever lost one match, so when the French Open comes round he'll be one of the favourites," he told Sky Sports News. "It is maybe closer than it's been in previous years, but I wouldn't write him off."
Murray returns to action this week when he will compete at the Italian Open in Rome.
