Richard Gasquet wins through in three sets against Grega Zemlja in Doha.

Richard Gasquet overturned a one-set deficit to advance through to the last eight of the Qatar Open at the expense of Grega Zemlja this evening.

There was nothing to split the two players during the opening set, with neither able to claim a decisive break of serve.

As a result, a tie-break was required to determine a victor. That was also evenly contested until Zemlja claimed a mini-break, before going on to win 9-7.

Gasquet's response was positive though and he managed to record a break of the Slovenian's serve on his way to winning the second set 6-4.

It looked as though the third set and the match was going to Zemlja when he opened up a 5-2 advantage over Gasquet. However, the French number two responded by winning three straight games to level up the set at five apiece.

Both players then held their next service games, forcing the match into a deciding tie-breaker. Gasquet took control of that early with a string of forehand winners and he eventually ran out a 7-3 winner.

He will now face Lukas Lacko in the quarter-finals.
