Tommy Robredo progresses into Barcelona Open quarter-finals

Tommy Robredo seals a place in the quarter-finals of the Barcelona with a 6-2 6-2 win over fellow Spaniard Marcel Granollers.

Tommy Robredo has grabbed a place in the quarter-finals of the Barcelona Open with a 6-2 6-2 victory over fellow Spaniard Marcel Granollers.

The 32-year-old was strong on his serve from the get-go and was able to break twice in the first set to take a comfortable lead on the clay court.

Robredo continued to dominate the clash by going a break up instantly in the second set, but Granollers tried to force his way back into the contest by snatching his opponent's serve in the fourth game.

Despite the 29-year-old's comeback attempt, Robredo responded with a double break before wrapping up the match on his serve.
