Reigning champion Djokovic overcame Roberto Bautista Agut while Federer won an epic contest with old rival Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals.

A lasting rivalry

An underwhelming men’s tournament was brought to life in the semi-final as the greatest tennis rivalry was renewed. It was the 40th instalment of the Federer and Nadal match-up and the first at Wimbledon since the epic 2008 final. The anticipation for this match was huge and it did not disappoint with immense tennis on show in Federer’s four-set win.

Brit watch

Lapthorne and Australian partner Alcott won the quad wheelchair doubles title on Court 14, beating Koji Sugeno and David Wagner 6-2 7-6 (4), while Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid reached the final of the wheelchair doubles after a 6-3 2-6 7-6 (4) victory over top seeds Stephane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer. Arthur Fery and Toby Samuel are into the boys’ doubles semi-finals, but Jacob Fearnley and Connor Thomson were beaten in straight sets. Jordanne Whiley and her partner Japan’s Yui Kamiji went out of the ladies’ wheelchair doubles in the semi-final.
