Roger Federer has said that he believes his performances at Wimbledon this year can inspire him to success in the future.

The 32-year-old was beaten by Novak Djokovic in the final on Saturday and has not won a Grand Slam title since 2012.

"I'm very happy to see that I can produce a performance like I did the last two weeks," BBC Sport quotes Federer as saying.

"That clearly makes me believe that this was just a stepping stone to many more great things in the future."

Federer has won a record 17 Grand Slam singles titles.
