Laura Robson crashes out of Wimbledon in round one

Great Britain's Laura Robson crashes out of Wimbledon in round one at the hands of Angelique Kerber.

Laura Robson has crashed out of Wimbledon in the first round following a straight-sets defeat by Angelique Kerber.

The British wildcard has been struggling with form and injury coming into the game and proved no match for the Australian Open champion, who broke her serve early in the first set.

Fourth seed Kerber went on to squander three break points, but eventually took the opening set 6-2 thanks in no small part to her powerful serve.

The German, who produced few unforced errors throughout the contest, eased to victory after taking the second set by the same scoreline.
