UEFA opens disciplinary proceedings against Bayern Munich after fans displayed an offensive banner during Tuesday's draw with Arsenal.

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Bayern Munich after fans displayed an offensive banner during Tuesday's draw with Arsenal in the Champions League.

The banner had 'Gay Gunners' written on it and also displayed a caricature of Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.

The German champions could now be hit with a heavy fine from the European football's governing body.

Despite a 1-1 draw on the night, Bayern progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition thanks to a 3-1 aggregate victory.
