Lukas Podolski has spoken of his pride as he closes in on his 100th appearance for the German national side.
The Arsenal forward will reach the milestone should he feature in Germany's final group encounter against Denmark in Lviv later this evening.
Reflecting on his upcoming achievement, the 27-year-old confessed that he never expected to represent his country on so many occasions.
"I am proud, that is my initial feeling," Podolski told Welt. "There is also great joy. It is simply unbelievable that I am soon going to play my 100th national team game.
"I have never in my wildest dreams imagined to play so often for Germany.
"We will so how long I can play still. If I feel well I can play a few more years."
Podolski made his debut as a substitute against Hungary in 2004.
