Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that David Raya is still a doubt for Sunday's Premier League blockbuster against Manchester City at the Emirates.
The Spain international sat out Wednesday's Champions League match with Girona, where his deputy Neto was not made to pay for a horror mistake in a 2-1 success.
Arteta said in his post-game press conference that Raya was nursing a muscular problem, but the Gunners boss is not exactly known for being completely truthful when it comes to team news before huge matches such as this one.
As a result, Raya should be in with a good chance of making the cut on Sunday, where Myles Lewis-Skelly is also available after his red card and three-game ban from the 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers was overturned.
The 18-year-old should now take Riccardo Calafiori's place at left-back, while Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba and Jurrien Timber make up the rest of a first-choice Arsenal backline.
Further forward, Thomas Partey returns to his regular midfield position alongside Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, and Arteta has the best kind of selection dilemma to solve on the right wing.
After producing a brilliant finish against Girona in the UCL, Ethan Nwaneri has done everything he can to earn a start, and the 17-year-old is a genuine contender to occupy the right-wing slot.
Leandro Trossard would surely be the man to drop out in that scenario, as Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli complete the Gunners' attacking trident.
Arsenal possible starting lineup:
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Nwaneri, Havertz, Martinelli
