Arsenal are reportedly considering AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali as an alternative if they are unable to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Sandro Tonali if they are unable to agree a deal for Youri Tielemans.

The Gunners have added five players to their squad throughout the transfer window - including Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira - but Mikel Arteta still wants to make further additions before the transfer window closes.

Arteta is particularly keen to strengthen his midfield, which has led to the Gunners identifying Leicester City's Tielemans as one of their targets.

They are expected to make an offer for the Belgium international this week, but if they are unable to agree a deal then they will look at alternatives.

According to the Daily Star, one possible alternative to Tielemans would be Milan's Tonali, who has been compared to former Italy international Andrea Pirlo.

Tonali, who featured in Milan's 1-1 draw against Atalanta at the weekend, has made 83 appearances for the Italian club and is currently under contract until 2026.

As well as considering a move for Tonali, Arsenal are also believed to be looking at Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, who has started all three Premier League games this season.
