Arsenal 'eyeing Roberto Firmino swoop'

Arsenal reportedly earmark Roberto Firmino as a replacement for Santi Cazorla, should he join Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal are reportedly plotting a summer move for Roberto Firmino, as a possible replacement for Santi Cazorla.

Cazorla continues to be linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, although the Gunners are thought to be reluctant to sell the ex-Villarreal playmaker.

However, The People claims that Atletico boss Diego Simeone is unwilling to give up on a deal for the Spaniard, buoyed by signals from Cazorla's camp that the player wants to move.

If the 30-year-old makes the switch to the Vicente Calderon, Arsenal are believed to have earmarked Firmino as a replacement, with chief scout Steve Rowley having watched the Brazilian this season.

It is thought that the 20-year-old Hoffenheim star could cost up to £20m.
