Arsenal will reportedly not pursue a deal for Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar with rivals Tottenham Hotspur now in pole position.
The Gunners came close to signing Lemar on transfer deadline day in 2017, but he has since moved to Atletico, where he has struggled to make an impact.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal feel that they already have enough options in attack and this has opened up room for Spurs to make an approach for the France international.
The report adds that Atletico are asking for a £5m loan fee to take Lemar until the end of the season, with a £51m option-to-buy clause that can be activated in the summer.
The winger has made 15 appearances in La Liga so far this season, scoring no goals, but impressed in the Monaco team that made it to the semi-final of the Champions League in 2017.
Spurs have been short on attackers recently with Son Heung-Min suspended and Harry Kane injured.
