Report: Arsene Wenger to spend £42m on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal are reportedly planning a club-record £42m move for Bundesliga top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this month.

Arsenal are reportedly planning a club-record bid of £42m for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this month.

The 26-year-old is the Bundesliga's top scorer this season with a return of 17 goals in 18 league appearances, plus a further seven in European competitions.

According to The Sun, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has made the Gabon international his top transfer target as he looks to guide the Premier League leaders to their first title in 12 years.

"An intermediary has made contact with Dortmund about Pierre-Emerick making a move to Arsenal," a source told the newspaper.

"Wenger knows the fee is very high - yet this is a striker who can make a massive difference for him. But there is a lot of interest in him."

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Aubameyang this window.
