Bayer Leverkusen will be looking to do the impossible when they host Bayern Munich at BayArena in the second leg of their Champions League round 16 clash on Tuesday, and overturn a three-goal deficit.
The Bavarians won 3-0 at Allianz Arena on March 5, and they will be confident of advancing into the quarter-finals given Tuesday's hosts will be without talisman Florian Wirtz.
Both teams suffered defeats on Saturday in the Bundesliga - Leverkusen lost 2-0 against Werder Bremen while Bayern lost 3-2 against VfL Bochum - and both will be looking to bounce back in commanding fashion.

Harry Kane opened the scoring in the first leg for Bayern after just nine minutes after darting onto the end of Michael Olise's whipped delivery from the right during his team's 3-0 win in the Champions League round of 16.
The Englishman would go on to score another from the penalty spot late on, but not before Jamal Musiala had doubled the Bavarians' lead in the 54th minute following a disastrous error from goalkeeper Matej Kovar.
Leverkusen have found it difficult to get the better of Bayern in 2024-25, drawing twice in the league but failing to close the gap to the champions elect of the Bundesliga.
However, Xabi Alonso's side at least beat Vincent Kompany's Bayern 1-0 in the DFB-Pokal round of 16 on December 3, 2024, though they were aided by Manuel Neuer's red card.
Their first-leg defeat against Bayern was the 10th time since August 2017 - a period encompassing 20 matches - that they had conceded at least three goals against the Bavraians.
Die Schwarzroten had enjoyed a six-game unbeaten streak against Bayern Munich prior to their first-leg loss, though the Bavarians did win six of the sides' prior seven clashes.
Leverkusen have won two of their last three matches against Kompany's team at BayArena - winning 3-0 in the Bundesliga in February 2024 - but the Bavarians also won six of their prior seven at the stadium.
