Pannu: Birmingham need more investment

Birmingham City may have to sell more players as their parent company continues to struggle financially.

Birmingham City are in need of more financial investment as parent company Hong Kong-based Birmingham International Holdings Ltd continues to struggle.

The club haven't received any money from their parent company since relegation from the Premier League last season.

It is feared that if the club do not receive financial backing soon that players will have to be sold to raise funds in January.

"There has not been any money from the parent company since relegation," said acting Birmingham City chairman Peter Pannu.

"Those in Hong Kong are working hard to address this and there is the hope that new investors will provide more capital once they understand the club better and after a re-listing of the parent company.

"I will continue to make trips to Hong Kong, on a regular basis, to keep pushing BIHL and its shareholders to invest in the club."

Following their relegation in May, Birmingham sold a number of key players last summer, including Scott Dann, Cameron Jerome and Roger Johnson.
