Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez says that it is just a matter of time before he wins the Chelsea fans over

Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez believes that it is only a matter of time before he wins the Chelsea fans over.

The Spaniard has received a frosty reception at Stamford Bridge by the club's fans following his past excursions with Liverpool, but the former Reds boss thinks that it will not be long before the supporters are onside.

"[We are] trying to play good football, trying to win games and I am sure that the fans will appreciate this, and I think we will win together. So it is a question of time," said Benitez.

"I hope they will realise that I will try to do the best for the club. At the end of the day - it is the best for them. They will enjoy."

The Chelsea faithful have been staging a one minute's applause in the 16th minute of games as a mark of respect for former boss Roberto Di Matteo following his dismissal last month.
