Former Barcelona advisor Ariedo Braida insists that Lautaro Martinez's £97m release clause will not put the Catalan club off signing him this summer.

Former Barcelona advisor Ariedo Braida has tipped the club to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan this summer.

The Argentine's future has been the subject of mounting speculation in recent weeks, with Barcelona understood to have been joined in the race for his signature by Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Martinez has an €111m (£96.8m) release clause in his contract at San Siro, and Braida believes that Barca could trigger that unless the coronavirus pandemic prevents them from doing so.

"Barcelona have paid higher release clauses than Lautaro's and he's a player that they like," Braida told TMW Radio.

"I think he's got the right profile for [Barcelona] and they could sign him. Coronavirus could change things. Inter could decide to keep him and renew his contract."

Martinez has scored 16 goals in 31 appearances for Inter Milan this season.
