Jose Mourinho: 'No regrets over Romelu Lukaku'

Jose Mourinho says that he does not regret loaning out Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku to Everton.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that he does not regret the decision to allow Romelu Lukaku to go out on loan to Everton.

The Belgian striker has hit the ground running at Goodison Park with three goals in two starts and a substitute appearance for the Toffees.

A suspension for Fernando Torres has left the Portuguese coach light in striking options ahead of Sunday's match at Norwich City, while both the Spaniard and Samuel Eto'o have struggled to find the net in the Premier League.

However, Mourinho remains confident that he made the right choice in letting Lukaku further his development elsewhere.

"No," the 50-year-old replied when asked by reporters if he regretted letting the 20-year-old go out on loan. "It is one thing to play for Everton and another thing to play for Chelsea."

Lukaku, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Anderlecht in 2011, scored 17 goals on loan at West Bromwich Albion last season.
