Everton's Romelu Lukaku: 'I'll prove I'm the boss against Manchester City'

Everton on-loan striker Romelu Lukaku says that he will do what he can to make sure that the Toffees remain unbeaten before the international break.

Everton's on-loan striker Romelu Lukaku is determined to ensure that the Toffees remain the only unbeaten club in the Premier League before the international break.

The 20-year-old, who is on a season-long loan at Goodison Park from Chelsea, will go head to head with his Belgium teammate Vincent Kompany on Saturday afternoon.

While Everton remain unbeaten in the league, City will head into the weekend's clash on the back of a midweek 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

"I want to prove to everyone that I can be the boss," the Liverpool Echo quotes Lukaku as saying. "We have an important match in Manchester City. Hopefully we can go without defeat for the international break with Everton and then we'll see what happens there.

"I look forward. I will just perform as well as possible and then the rest will automatically follow. If you just simply love football and you love yourself to the duties of your position then the rest come naturally."

Lukaku netted a brace at Goodison Park against Newcastle United on Monday.
