Russell Slade avoids sack despite Leyton Orient draw

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade reveals that he will remain in charge of the club until at least the weekend despite his side only drawing at Notts County.

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade has revealed that he will keep his job until the weekend after talks with club owner Francesco Becchetti.

After losing to Colchester at the weekend, Slade had been told that his team must beat Notts County on Tuesday night, but despite only drawing away at Meadow Lane, the club's boss has been handed a stay of execution.

The 53-year-old told BBC London 94.9: "There was a frank and honest discussion about the way forward - which still involves me at this moment of time. We carry on - I carry on - in my role as it stands.

"These are challenging times for me and the group. We need to move on. We need to find a way to make it work.

"I love my job and you don't want that taken away from you. I have still got a job to do. I still want to take the club to the Championship."

Slade takes his side to play Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
