Manchester United 'could sign Jadon Sancho for £50m this summer'

Manchester United could reportedly sign Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho for £50m during this summer's transfer window.

The England international was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford last year, but the Red Devils were not prepared to meet Dortmund's asking price, which was thought to be in the region of £108m.

A recent report claimed that BVB had dropped their valuation of the former Manchester City youngster to £80m due to their financial problems, which would worsen if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

However, according to Eurosport, the seriousness of the German club's issues off the field means that United could potentially acquire the attacker for as little as £50m in the upcoming market.

The report claims that Sancho is 'almost certain' to leave Signal Iduna Park this summer, but the 20-time English champions could face competition from the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.

The 20-year-old has found it difficult to show his best form for Dortmund on a consistent basis during the current season but has still contributed eight goals and 13 assists in 26 appearances in all competitions.

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed that the club are set to complete the signing of RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano.

The 22-year-old is one of the most sought-after defenders in world football, with several top clubs in Europe interested in acquiring his services.

The German champions now appear to have beaten the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United to signing the defender, with sporting director Salihamidzic confirming that the transfer is close to completion.

When asked by Bild as to whether he could confirm that a deal has been agreed, Salihamidzic replied: "I can, and we are very happy about that at FC Bayern".

Sky Sports News are also reporting that the Frenchman will sign a five-year contract at the Allianz Arena and is likely to replace David Alaba, who is set to leave the club when this contract expires this summer.

Since joining Leipzig in 2017, Upamecano has featured nearly 140 times for the club, including 19 Bundesliga appearances this campaign.
