Rio Ferdinand reveals that he can't wait to see Shinji Kagawa in action for Manchester United.

Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he "can't wait" to see Shinji Kagawa in action for Manchester United.

The 23-year-old Japanese midfielder joined the Red Devils for around £17m last month after helping Borussia Dortmund win the German double.

"I can't wait to see Kagawa in action," Ferdinand told MUTV. "I watched him on TV last season and saw him in the cup final when Dortmund beat Bayern Munich and he looked very impressive.

"I think a lot of people will be surprised by how good he really is and hopefully he can hit the ground running."

United kick off their Premier League campaign at Everton on Monday, August 20.
