Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva insists that his side want to win the "special" Premier League title back this season.

Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva has revealed that his side are desperate to win the Premier League title this season.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side lost their league crown on the final day of last season to local rivals Manchester City.

Da Silva is keen to avoid disappointment this time around, insisting that the league title is "special" to the club.

"At United we start the season wanting to win every competition we play in - the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, but the League is special," the Brazilian told the club's official website.

"Winning it is an incredible feeling and we want to feel that again. It's important to us this season and we'll battle as hard as we can to make sure we lift the trophy.

"If we do well over this period then it can set us up well for a title push."

The Red Devils currently hold a seven-point lead over City at the top of the table.
