Saturday's Premier League predictions including Everton vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's Premier League action, including Everton vs. Liverpool and Manchester City vs. Arsenal.

Everton vs. Liverpool (Saturday, 12.30pm)

The 288th Merseyside derby is shaping up to be one of the most fascinating in recent years as surprise early Premier League leaders Everton welcome champions Liverpool to Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime.

Jurgen Klopp's side make the short trip across Stanley Park looking to bounce back from their worst ever Premier League defeat, but they come up against an Everton side leading the way as the only team in the top flight to have won four from four so far this season.

We say: Everton 1-1 Liverpool

Judged solely on this season's matches, this game appears to promise goals - there have been 39 in their combined eight outings so far in 2020-21.

However, that is rarely the case in these derbies, particularly at Goodison Park. Everton are flying while Liverpool will still be reeling, but there is no doubting the quality the visitors have at their disposal.

We can see the long derby drought ending, but only in terms of goals rather than an Everton victory as we expect Klopp to maintain his unbeaten record against the Toffees.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Chelsea vs. Southampton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Chelsea welcome Southampton to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as Premier League football returns after the international break.

Just one point separates the two sides in the table after four games of the season, and both teams head into this contest off the back of victories before the two-week stoppage.

We say: Chelsea 2-1 Southampton

Ings will fancy his chances of scoring against Kepa in this match and Southampton certainly have both the quality and momentum to cause Chelsea problems here.

However, with the Blues very nearly now up to full strength in terms of their attacking options, we expect the hosts to have enough firepower to pick up all three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Man City vs. Arsenal (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Two old colleagues renew acquaintances again on Saturday when Mikel Arteta takes his Arsenal side to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City and former mentor Pep Guardiola.

It has been a distinctly ordinary start to the campaign for the hosts, who go into the weekend five points and 10 places behind their visitors in the embryonic Premier League table.

We say: Manchester City 2-2 Arsenal

This is a very difficult match to call. Typically in recent years, Arsenal have looked like almost ideal opposition for the way Man City play, but that is changing with Arteta at the helm.

City are in poor form themselves too and the visitors will arrive at the Etihad with genuine belief that they can do a job on their hosts, as Leicester did. It is a match which could go either way, particularly with Man City missing so many key players through injury, so we're sitting on the fence with an entertaining score draw.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Newcastle vs. Man Utd (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Manchester United return to Premier League action for the first time since their 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur when they make the trip up to Newcastle United on Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be demanding a response to the club's joint-heaviest Premier League defeat, but they face a Newcastle side sitting four points and seven places above them in the early standings.

We say: Newcastle United 1-1 Manchester United

Manchester United are in dire straits at the moment and this is a tricky fixture against a Newcastle side with a decent record against them here in recent seasons.

The visitors will be demanding a response from themselves and their away record of late cannot be ignored, but it is also very hard to back them on current form so we are predicting a share of the spoils.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
