David Gill believes that the next Manchester United manager will have the "dream job".

Manchester United chief executive David Gill has said that the opportunity to replace the retiring Sir Alex Ferguson as manager is the perfect job for whoever comes in.

Gill said that the club has been planning for Ferguson's retirement and the new manager, expected to be Everton's David Moyes, will have the right set-up for continued United success.

"It is a dream job," he told MUTV. "We knew this day would come. We have been preparing for it.

"The new manager will inherit a great squad and infrastructure off the pitch, with a great staff.

"He will be walking into a difficult situation in terms of the number of trophies, but the positive of also having the support of the Manchester United family."

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has said that the deal is not yet done to take Moyes to Old Trafford.
