Jadon Sancho would allegedly be willing to discuss 'starting again' at Manchester United next season if Erik ten Hag departs.

Jadon Sancho would reportedly be willing to discuss 'starting again' at Manchester United next season, should Erik ten Hag lose his job as head coach this summer.

Ten Hag's position at the helm is in severe doubt due to Man United's struggles this season, and the club are believed to be giving serious consideration to bringing in a new manager for the 2024-25 campaign.

According to inews, a departure for Ten Hag could see Sancho attempt to reignite his career at Old Trafford, with the England international not yet ready to give up on his time at the club.

The report claims that the 24-year-old would be open to 'starting again' under a new manager, but he is unlikely to play for the Red Devils again if Ten Hag keeps his job.

Sancho featured in Man United's opening three matches of the current Premier League season but was then a notable absentee from the squad against Arsenal at the start of September.

Ten Hag said that poor performances in training had led to the forward being left out, but Sancho insisted that was not the case, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat".

Having seemingly refused to apologise for effectively calling his manager a liar, the ex-Manchester City youngster was removed from the first-team picture at Old Trafford.

Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January, and he has scored twice and registered two assists in 14 appearances for the German club in the second half of the campaign.

The forward has one goal and two assists in 10 Bundesliga outings, while he has one goal in four Champions League appearances, with BVB reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Sancho played 86 minutes of Dortmund's 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their quarter-final on Tuesday evening, which secured a 5-4 aggregate success for the German side.

Is there a route back for Sancho at Man United?

Under Ten Hag, it is very, very difficult to imagine Sancho playing for Man United again.

However, there is a strong chance that the Dutchman could lose his job this summer, and Sancho is seemingly prepared to discuss a return under those circumstances.

There is no getting away from the fact that the attacker has disappointed during his time at Man United as a whole, though, only managing 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances in all competitions.

Sancho has shown flashes of his undoubted quality, but he has struggled to produce on a consistent basis, and the club are therefore facing a big decision in the upcoming market.

Dortmund are keen to re-sign him on a permanent basis but would not be able to afford the £40m that Man United could allegedly demand; a number of other clubs are keeping a close eye on the situation, though, and a permanent exit this summer still seems the most likely outcome.
