Plymouth Argyle want Brian McDermott as manager?

Former Reading and Leeds United boss Brian McDermott has been contacted by Plymouth Argyle regarding their vacant manager's job, according to a report.

Plymouth Argyle have reportedly contacted former Reading boss Brian McDermott regarding their managerial vacancy.

The League Two side are looking for a new boss after John Sheridan left them by mutual consent last week.

McDermott is currently working as a scout for Premier League side Arsenal.

The 54-year-old's last job in management was a 13-month stint at Leeds United that ended in May 2014.

According to the Western Morning News, Plymouth are prepared to offer McDermott a route back into the dugout with the top job at Home Park.

McDermott guided Reading to promotion to the Premier League in 2012.
