Team News: Cristiano Ronaldo benched for Champions League second leg at Borussia Dortmund

Cristiano Ronaldo drops to the Real Madrid bench for tonight's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been dropped to the bench for tonight's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund.

The Portuguese forward suffered a knock to his knee in the first leg and is replaced in Carlo Ancelotti's starting XI by Angel di Maria tonight.

There is one other change for the visitors, who take a 3-0 first-leg lead to Germany, as Asier Illarramendi gets the nod over Isco in midfield.

For the home side, Robert Lewandowski returns from suspension to start up front in place of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Jurgen Klopp makes three other changes, with Manuel Friedrich, Oliver Kirch and Milos Jojic in for Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Sebastian Kehl and Nuri Sahin.

Dortmund: Weidenfeller; Piszczek, Friedrich, Hummels, Durm; Kirch, Jojic, Grosskreutz; Mkhitaryan, Reus; Lewandowski
Subs: Langerak, Papastathopoulos, Hofmann, Sahin, Aubameyang, Schieber, Ducksch

Madrid: Casillas; Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrao; Alonso, Modric, Illarramendi; Bale, Benzema, Di Maria
