Tottenham Hotspur to turn to Luke Shaw?

Luke Shaw is reportedly a transfer target of Tottenham Hotspur, but only if the North Londoners fail to sign Fabio Coentrao.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly make a move for Southampton full-back Luke Shaw if they fail in their January pursuit of Fabio Coentrao.

Speculation has suggested that Spurs head coach Andre Villas-Boas tried to sign Real Madrid's Coentrao during the summer and he is believed to be keen to make another bid for the Portuguese left-back this winter.

However, should that move fall through, then Villas-Boas has identified Shaw as an alternative option, according to the London Evening Standard.

The report went on to claim that Southampton would not consider anything less than £10m for the 18-year-old, who has risen through the ranks at the St Mary's Stadium.

The last player Spurs purchased from the Saints was Gareth Bale back in 2007.
