Steve Bruce believes that his Sunderland side have deserved better results from their Premier League matches this season.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is "sure" that Sunderland will start picking up some positive results in their upcoming matches.

The Black Cats have won just one of their opening eight Premier League matches, with their latest defeat coming during this afternoon's match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite the poor run of form, Bruce has insisted that his side have deserved more.

"We've played badly once this season and that was against Norwich," Bruce told Sky Sports News.

"We haven't really got our rewards but sometimes that's football, especially at this level.

"But we have to stick with it and [our fortunes] will turn, I'm sure it will."

Sunderland are currently one place above the relegation zone.
