West Bromwich Albion say that they will deal with Peter Odemwingie over his posts on Twitter in private.

Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that they will deal "internally" with Peter Odemwingie following his latest verbal outburst on Twitter.

The 31-year-old, who was refused a transfer to Queens Park Rangers in January, took to the social networking site yesterday afternoon to voice his anger at the fact that he has spent the last few weeks as a substitute.

However, rather than making any punishment for the Nigerian striker public, the Baggies have insisted that the matter will be kept private.

"The club are aware of what Peter has said and we will deal with it internally," a spokesman told BBC Sport.

Odemwingie joined West Brom from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2010.
