Leyton Orient plan to bid for tenancy of the Olympic Stadium.

Leyton Orient have made it clear that they will challenge West Ham for the tenancy of the Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Olympics.

It was announced yesterday that West Ham's bid to buy the stadium outright fell through amid legal challenges from Leyton Orient and Tottenham.

The Olympic Park Legacy Committee subsequently announced that the stadium would no longer be for sale, but it would be available for a team to rent.

West Ham are still favourites to become residents, but Orient owner Barry Hearn has insisted that his team will continue to fight for the stadium.

"West Ham have every right to bid for it but so do Leyton Orient, so do Spurs, so do cricket, so do rugby. Everyone has a chance now. All bets are off and we have got a chance to be heard," Hearn said.

"I am definitely interested in being part of the tender process. That process starts now."

Orient are currently one place from the bottom of the League One table, with nine points from 12 games.
