Fulham will have the chance to set a new club scoring record when they welcome Arsenal to Craven Cottage for Sunday's Premier League contest.

Fulham will have the chance to set a new club scoring record when they welcome Arsenal to Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Marco Silva's side enjoyed a successful outing in midweek, producing a strong attacking performance to claim a 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Alex Iwobi netted a brace alongside a Matt O'Riley own goal to fire Fulham to a third Premier League victory in five matches.

Not only did they claim all three points, but they also managed to equal a club scoring record with their three goals against the Seagulls.

Fulham looking to set new club scoring record

Fulham have now scored in 13 consecutive top-flight games, meaning that they are enjoying their best goalscoring run in 65 years.

After equalling a long-standing record, Fulham now have the chance to set a new club record by scoring in a 14th successive top-flight match.

However, that may be easier said than done because Fulham will be up against an Arsenal side that boasts the second-best defensive record in the Premier League.

The hosts can at least take confidence from the fact that they ended an 11-game winless run in head-to-head meetings with Arsenal when they last faced Mikel Arteta's side in December 2023.

On that occasion, Raul Jimenez and Bobby De Cordova-Reid found the net to guide Silva's side to a narrow 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage.

As a result of that win, the West London club now have the opportunity to win consecutive league matches against Arsenal for the first time.

Could Alex Iwobi be key against the Gunners?

Iwobi could have a key role to play against his former club if Fulham are to take all three points from Sunday's contest.

The Nigeria international is enjoying an impressive run of form, having scored four goals in his last six Premier League appearances.

However, he has never scored in any of his eight previous meetings with Arsenal, although he has come out on the winning side in four of those matches.

In fact, during his time with Everton and Fulham, Iwobi has never lost a home match against the Gunners, with his five home encounters producing four wins and one draw.

Meanwhile, Fulham will be unable to call upon Arsenal loanee Reiss Nelson, who is ineligible to face his parent club and is now out injured after he picked up a hamstring problem in midweek.

The hosts are also without the injured duo of Joachim Andersen and Harrison Reed, while Tom Cairney will serve the second game of a three-match suspension.
