Olivier Giroud: 'Hugo Lloris would like to join Arsenal'

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud claims that his France international teammate Hugo Lloris would be open to switching North London allegiances from Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has claimed that his French compatriot Hugo Lloris would be open to joining them from fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Lloris has hinted that he would consider leaving White Hart Lane in the summer if manager Tim Sherwood fails to guide Spurs to Champions League qualification.

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are supposed admirers of the Les Bleus captain, but Giroud reveals that the prospect of Lloris switching North London allegiances has been discussed on international duty.

Giroud told reporters: "We go out together and talk about everything. We talk about life and sometimes the French team a bit and our wish to have a great experience together at the World Cup.

"Have I asked him to join Arsenal? Yes, I have with Lolo (Laurent Koscielny). He would have liked to, he would quite like to. You will have to ask him the question."

Ex-Arsenal academy graduate Rohan Ricketts, who made one League Cup appearance for the Gunners, was the last player to move between the clubs directly when he joined Spurs on a free transfer in 2002.
