Hunt: We must pressurise refs

Wolves midfielder Stephen Hunt believes that they need to put more pressure on referees to get opposition players sent off.

Stephen Hunt believes that Wolverhampton Wanderers need to mirror the actions of the top sides by making an effort to get opposition players sent off.

The Irishman made the comments following Nenad Milijas's red card in the West Midlands club's 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates on Tuesday.

Several Wolves players, including Hunt, believe that the Gunners players surrounded referee Stuart Attwell in an attempt to get the Serbian dismissed.

"Players are clever, the reactions sometimes do not help the referee," he said.

"Everyone does it now. We should be maybe better at it than any other team.

"We have been done in the past - like with Jonathan Woodgate against Stoke, we should have been surrounding the referee to get him sent off. Every team does it, so we don't do it and get punished. Maybe we should start doing it."

Mick McCarthy has confirmed that Wolves will appeal Milijas's three-match ban.
