Arsenal's Arsene Wenger: 'We will finish fourth'

Arsene Wenger is confident that Arsenal will finish fourth in the Premier League, despite slipping down to fifth on Saturday.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his side will finish fourth in the Premier League this season.

The Gunners are currently fifth in the league table with 64 points from 33 matches, two points behind Everton, who occupy the final Champions League spot at the moment.

The London outfit slipped out of the top four on Saturday as Everton won 1-0 at Sunderland, while they were in FA Cup action against Wigan Athletic at London's Wembley Stadium.

"I didn't even know the result and I think if we win our games we will finish in front," the Frenchman told reporters.

"For us it's important now to focus on the Premier League and if we do that well, I'm confident we will come back.

"On top of that we have a target now for the end of the season. We have a final in the FA Cup but we now have a period where we can concentrate on the Premier League."

Arsenal defeated Wigan 4-2 on penalties to book their place in the final of the FA Cup.
