Team News: Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud return for Arsenal

Arsenal welcome Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud back into their starting lineup as they make five changes for tonight's match against Aston Villa

Mesut Ozil has been restored to the starting lineup for Arsenal's Premier League match against Aston Villa this evening.

The German, who was left on the bench for last weekend's 2-0 FA Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur, is one of five changes to the side for tonight's match.

Wojciech Szczesny, Per Mertesacker, Mathieu Flamini and Olivier Giroud are also named in the starting lineup as Lukas Fabianski, Thomas Vermaelen, Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and the injured Theo Walcott all miss out.

Aston Villa also make five changes to the side that were eliminated from the FA Cup by League One side Sheffield United last Saturday.

Ron Vlaar and Gabriel Agbonlahor both return to the lineup, while Brad Guzan reclaims his place in goal ahead of Jed Steer.

Nathan Baker and Karim El Ahmadi complete the changes for Paul Lambert's side as they look to repeat their opening day victory over the Gunners and climb into the top half of the table.

Aston Villa: Guzan; Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Baker; Luna, El Ahmadi, Westwood, Delph; Agbonlahor, Benteke
Subs: Steer, Sylla, Bacuna, Tonev, Helenius, Weimann, Albrighton

Arsenal: Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Wilshere, Flamini, Cazorla, Ozil, Gnabry; Giroud
Subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Rosicky, Podolski, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Park
